The 2008 Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 31 August 2008 at the Auditorium, Epworth Hospital commencing 11am.
In celebration of the Cardiomyopathy Day 2008 a National Seminar & Forum will be held at the Auditorium. The theme of the seminar is “Living with Cardiomyopathy”. Following the presentations the speakers will form a panel for the Forum, which will allow the audience to ask questions and make comments.
The program is as follows:

Speakers :
Dr Craig Lilienthal , Sydney GP, medico-legal writer and adviser and member of the RACGP’s National Expert Committee for Standards in General Practice. His presentation, “Coming to grips with Cardiomyopathy” will include discussion of communication problems between health professionals and patients.
Dr David O’Donnell , Cardiologist and Electro physiologist, will speak on arrangements for implants, the procedures involved and living with devices such as ICDs.
Mr Ivan Macciocca , Genetics Counselor will discuss the genetic implications for people with Cardiomyopathy and their families and the procedures involved regarding testing
Monica Kerlin is a cardiomyopathy service coordinator / nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and has 25 years’ experience in cardiac nursing. Monica setup the Royal Melbourne Hospital Cardiomyopathy Service in January 2002 with cardiologist Dr Anu Aggarwal. Monica and her colleagues have just completed a study of long-term outcomes for people in their care.
